A Wisconsin native, Sue has lived in Eugene, Oregon since 1972. She has worked in the printing industry for 25 years and gets outdoors as
much as possible. For the last six years she has been taking instruction from local artists and learning to make art. A new woodcut, "Odalisque," was on display in the Mayor's Art Show in Eugene this
September 2000. Inspired by her the way her cat "Little" loves to lie in various luxurious poses, reminding her of the famous paintings of Odalisques in art, Sue plans a series of "Odalisque" woodcuts.
Artist's Statement: "I've always been attracted to graphic expression, especially the simplicity and richness of black and white. I enjoy
drawing for its directness and printmaking for its inevitable surprises. Linocut and woodcut are my media of choice at the
